“Max Verstappen is the best driver on the grid and this year he will finish fifth or sixth. I don’t know if F1 is a bit unfair in this regard. But there is no need to waste time explaining to people who don’t want to understand.”

Hill’s response came via social media and was direct: “What a load of nonsense! I totally disagree with FA here.”

After winning four consecutive world titles and losing the fifth by just two points last year, Verstappen is experiencing a difficult start in the new era of Formula 1 regulations. Despite some good performances, the RB22 has limited his results, as happened at the British GP, where he again suffered from the failure of the active rear wing in the final laps.
With about a third of the season completed, the Dutchman is only seventh in the Drivers’ Championship, with two podiums, while Red Bull is also far from the leaders in the Constructors’ Championship.
