Lewis Hamilton has faced a much more successful 2026 Formula 1 season compared to his debut in Formula 1. However, he has suffered a series of penalties in recent races.

After 11 rounds contested so far in the championship, the seven-time world champion has achieved five podiums, as well as securing his first victory in the team’s colors at the Barcelona GP. He is now the runner-up in the standings, 50 points behind Kimi Antonelli.


It turns out that even with much more positive results compared to 2025, the sanctions are also coming heavily. The penalties started in Monaco, when he received 5 seconds for exceeding the speed limit in the pit lane. In Silverstone, another penalty, this time for a jump start.

At the Belgian GP, the Ferrari driver received another 5 seconds as the stewards found him guilty of the incident at the start involving George Russell. And in Hungary, a penalty in qualifying with a loss of three grid positions and another 5 seconds in the race for speeding in the pit lane.
