Rafael Câmara continues in the race for a possible spot in Formula 1. Before testing for Haas in Portimão, the Brazilian participated in a Ferrari session in Mugello, behind the wheel of an old F1 car, in the so-called “TPCs,” a test widely used for young drivers to gain mileage.

The Italian team’s work began on Wednesday (26) and continues this Thursday (27), as part of a scheduled TPC testing program. Ferrari also uses the activities to work with Pirelli on defining the range of tires that will be used in 2027.
Câmara opened Wednesday’s schedule. The Brazilian completed some laps on the Mugello circuit to adapt to the car’s characteristics and demands. A few hours later, he left Italy by plane heading to Portimão, where he will test with Haas.

The evaluation gains importance given the competition involving the Brazilian. Rafa’s main competitors are Leo Fornaroli, a member of the McLaren academy and 2025 Formula 2 champion, and Ryo Hirakawa, supported by Toyota. The three are fighting for Esteban Ocon’s seat, who is expected to leave the American team at the end of the 2026 season.
