The driver has been part of the Italian team’s program for a few years. In fact, his debut on the grid took place at the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP, replacing Carlos Sainz in the team at that race and finishing in an impressive seventh place, drawing attention for his talent.

And although Ollie is pointed out as a possible replacement for Lewis Hamilton eventually, Brundle thinks the young competitor should evaluate options, especially due to the turnaround in the seven-time F1 champion’s performance. “Haas is an extremely respectable team on the F1 grid; I don’t want to minimize the work they are doing, and we would miss them a lot,” said Martin.

In his second year on the F1 grid, there is uncertainty about the Haas duo for 2027. Asked about the subject and if the team will keep both drivers, Brundle pointed out that “no, I don’t believe so, answering your question. I believe they are also looking at other young drivers.”
