Lando Norris has decided to stay at McLaren until at least the end of 2030, and the team celebrated the extension of the contract. The CEO of the British team, Zak Brown, and the team principal, Andrea Stella, highlighted the importance of the Briton to the project and believe in more years of success together in Formula 1.

The new agreement also includes an option to extend beyond 2030. World champion in 2025, Norris has built his entire F1 career with McLaren, since his debut in 2019, and has already become the driver with the most starts in the team’s history.
Brown described the stay as a great satisfaction and highlighted the evolution of the Briton since his arrival in the team’s young driver program: “I am extremely pleased to sign a new contract with Lando, extending his commitment to McLaren until at least 2030,” said the executive.
The CEO also linked Norris to the recent growth of the team, which won consecutive constructors’ titles in 2024 and 2025, and returned to win the drivers’ championship in 2025 after seventeen years. “We are extremely excited about what lies ahead and remain fully focused on fighting for wins and championships,” added Brown.

Stella also highlighted the role played by Norris over the past nine years. For the team principal, the British driver combines speed, maturity, consistency, and commitment, as well as possessing a trait he considers especially important: “He is a special person, valued by everyone in the team,” he said.
The McLaren boss also assessed that the renewal strengthens the continuity of the project: “Norris grew with us and played a central role in bringing the team back to the forefront of Formula 1,” concluded Stella.
