Valtteri Bottas stated that he sees no reason for concern about his immediate future in Formula 1, even after the surprising departure of Graeme Lowdon from the leadership of Cadillac. The Finn confirmed that he is secured for the next season, while talks about the following period have not yet started.

The change in team leadership happened during the August break, when Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac, decided on Lowdon’s departure and appointed Marcin Budkowski as his replacement. Bottas was considered a signing directly linked to the former boss, who publicly defended him when rumors about a possible dismissal arose.
Even with the change in leadership, Bottas made it clear that he does not expect changes in his situation in the short term. When asked about any concerns regarding his future, the driver replied: “Not in the near future, no. I am fully set for next year, but eventually, we will talk about what will happen after 2027, but not yet,” he said.

The experienced driver also commented on Lowdon’s departure and admitted that the decision can only be evaluated over time: “I respect the decision, and as with any change, time will always tell which change is good and which is bad,” he added, also acknowledging that he does not know Budkowski as well as his predecessor.
For Bottas, there were signs that some transformation was needed within the team, although the scale of the change was surprising: “I think something needed to change, some of the problems we had were dragging on, but maybe I did not expect such a big change,” concluded the Finnish driver.
