Gabriel Bortoleto made a brief assessment of Audi’s form at the Formula 1 Monaco GP. Even though qualifying didn’t go as expected, the Brazilian highlighted that on a tight track, Audi can perform well.

During the activities in Monte Carlo, the competitor always ran among the top ten, and in Saturday’s (6) qualifying session, he was advancing to Q2. But in an error on his last attempt, he crashed and could not continue in the session, starting in 16th.
But even with the bitter outcome for the team and for himself, Bortoleto stated that the good results in free practice showed that when not so dependent on the engine, Audi can prosper.

“It certainly makes it clear to us that on tracks with fewer straights, which demand more from the chassis itself, I think we can make a big difference as a team, but on tracks with more straights, we suffer because we have an engine that is not among the best. But the positive is that we have gotten some things right, we had some improvements this weekend,” he told SporTV.
“But there’s no way to think very positively right now. I made a mistake and when the car was good, I didn’t deliver what I should have. Now it’s about focusing on tomorrow, trying my best tomorrow even knowing it’s difficult to overtake here in Monaco, and then we’ll go to the next round in Barcelona,” he concluded.
