In Audi’s debut in the category, Melbourne was more than positive with the driver of car #5, who not only advanced to Q3 in qualifying but also finished in ninth place, within the points zone. In fact, the good performance even came as a surprise.
“It was a great weekend, I really didn’t expect it. Coming from the test in Barcelona, we had a lot to work on. Then came Bahrain and we were able to get an idea, more or less, of where we were, but reaching Q3 on our first attempt and still scoring points was very positive. I was extremely happy to achieve this in our very first weekend,” he said.

However, the Brazilian driver preferred to remain cautious for this weekend. “Every track is different and results change, so we are going to do our best here and try to truly understand where we are on different types of circuits,” he commented.
