Gabriel Bortoleto was satisfied with what he managed to deliver in the qualifying for the Formula 1 Japanese GP. This Saturday (28), the Brazilian celebrated reaching Q3 after the problems presented during the second free practice session.

Still on Friday, 27, the Audi driver almost couldn’t run in free practice 2. Due to technical problems with his car, he had to stay off the track for almost the entire time, running only in the final 12 minutes – he still managed to set the 16th fastest time.
In qualifying, however, Gabriel managed to reverse the scenario, advanced to the final stage and will start ninth in Suzuka, praising the performance to SporTV after the Formula 1 qualifying. “Yesterday was frustrating, being left out of practice 2. I think, in my opinion, it is the most important practice of the week, we do both race pace and qualifying pace,” he said.

“But in the end everything worked out, we managed to set up the car well for FP3, we improved a little bit more for qualifying, we had an incredible qualifying. There in Q3 something was missing, but really, the guys at the front set a good time that was hard to reach, but P9 is good to start tomorrow, put in a good race pace and try to move up,” he added.
