Oliver Bearman suffered a severe accident at the end of TL3 of the Spanish Grand Prix in Formula 1 and became doubtful for qualifying in Madrid. The Haas driver seriously damaged the VF-26 after losing control just before entering the Monumental corner.

Bearman touched the barrier with the front right tire and spun. Then, he hit the wall hard on the side, compromising both the front and rear parts of the car.
Haas is now racing against time to try to get the Briton into qualifying. With only about two hours available and extensive damage to the VF-26, Bearman’s participation in the session is now considered uncertain.

The team’s work became even more complicated by the delay caused by Lewis Hamilton’s earlier accident. The Ferrari driver’s crash required lengthy repairs to the barriers and extended the TL3 interruption, further reducing the window between the end of the session and the start of qualifying.
With less time than usual to repair a heavily damaged car, Haas mechanics will have to speed up their work to try to get Bearman back on track still this Saturday.
