Aston Martin stayed at the Hungaroring after the Hungarian GP to test the new Honda engine. The power unit upgrade will make its debut after the Formula 1 summer break, which takes place at the Dutch GP.

At the Budapest circuit, testing began on Tuesday the 28th, with Pirelli testing alongside Alpine and Audi. The next day, while Franco Colapinto and Gabriel Bortoleto continued tire activities, the British team focused on the second day of filming of the year.


When it went on track, the AMR26 was equipped for the first time with the new Honda engine, which used two development tokens through the ADUO. The driver in charge of the car was test driver Jak Crawford.

The test, included in the filming regulations, has a limit of 200km of running. Despite the limited distance, it was possible to gather important data, especially compared to the performance of the engine used at the Hungarian GP over the weekend.
In the first indications, vibrations, one of the main problems at the start of the season for Aston Martin, were eliminated. Also, work on FIA homologated components may result in a power increase of just under 30hp.
