Gary Anderson, former technical director of Jordan in Formula 1, claimed that Lewis Hamilton needs to take responsibility for the recent mistakes made instead of pointing fingers at others.

In the last races, the seven-time champion has received a series of penalties – the latest were precisely at the Hungarian GP, one in qualifying when he lost three positions on the grid and another in the race, with a 5-second addition to his time that compromised his final result.
So, in his latest column in The Telegraph, Anderson questioned the recent performances of the seven-time F1 champion, being surprised by the number of mistakes. “I have to say I’m surprised to see Hamilton making these mistakes, given all his experience. It’s hard to say exactly why he is making them,” he said.
“Sometimes, it’s just a streak of bad luck and the driver wonders why this is happening. Other times, there is something deeper at play,” he continued.

He also highlighted the responsibility of the seven-time champion, who should take the blame instead of turning to Ferrari. “If we analyze the two incidents that resulted in penalties in Hungary, I believe the fault is predominantly Hamilton’s and that he should take more responsibility, instead of pointing the finger at his team,” he said.
“He is not using the experience he has to show young drivers who are emerging how a professional driver should act. In the last races, this has cost him many points,” he concluded.
