The arrival of the new Formula 1 engines in 2026 brought not only technical changes. The FIA also created an unprecedented mechanism to prevent manufacturers from falling excessively behind the competition during the regulation period. Called ADUO (Aerodynamic and Power Unit Development Opportunity), the system promises to help disadvantaged manufacturers, but its rules generate many doubts among fans and even paddock professionals.
One of the main questions involves precisely the benefits granted by the program. After all, what can a manufacturer covered by ADUO really update?
