And with the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia races approaching, the premier category of motorsport is expected to make a decision on whether to cancel or not next week.

The calendar begins this weekend with the Australian GP, with China and Japan being the next stops. Then, between April 10 and 12, the race in Sakhir takes place, and in the following week, between April 17 and 19, it’s Jeddah’s turn.
It turns out that the situation in the region is quite unstable and the uncertainty regarding the stages is a reality. For example, the World Endurance Championship chose to postpone the season opener, the Qatar 1812km, while the MotoGP Qatar race, which takes place on the same weekend as the F1 Bahrain GP, is also an unknown.

Now, according to information from the Crash.net website, a Formula 1 meeting on the subject is expected within the next ten days – therefore, during the China weekend and before Suzuka. Furthermore, the portal indicates that the word in the paddock is that cancellation is an increasingly imminent issue.
Not only that, journalist Adam Cooper indicated that holding the races at substitute circuits – Italy and Portugal emerged as options – is also quite unlikely due to logistical issues.
