Lewis Hamilton confirmed that the sequel to ‘F1: The Movie’ is already in development, following the resounding success of the first film, which grossed over US$ 630 million at the box office. Production of the new film has already begun, with the Briton actively participating in production meetings and also involved in drafting the script.

The first version of the film, starring Brad Pitt, was released in the United Kingdom in June 2025 and soon received critical acclaim. Now, after the great success, producer Jerry Bruckheimer announced the sequel, and Hamilton is once again involved in the project as a producer: “Yes, we are already working on the first script. We had our first meeting, maybe in the middle or end of last year,” Hamilton stated in a press conference in Australia.
Even with the anticipation surrounding the sequel, Hamilton highlighted that the work will be done calmly to ensure the film is successful again: “We have a great team, a great cast, and an excellent screenwriter. So, I’m not worried about that, but we’re going to take our time and make sure it’s done the right way,” he stated.

The 41-year-old driver also commented on the public’s reactions to the film, revealing that many people are still watching the production and feeling inspired to understand more about Formula 1: “I still receive messages from people who are watching the film now and how it opened their eyes to what the category really represents,” he added.
As for acting in the sequel, Hamilton made it clear that he has no desire to appear on camera: “I really like the idea of staying behind the scenes. It was an incredible experience and much more enjoyable than actually being in front of the cameras. I have many projects underway, including documentaries and films, and I’m going to focus on that,” the British driver concluded, ruling out the possibility of an active role as an actor in the sequel.
