Nicholas Garfinkel and his teammate Victor Tieri secured the pole position in the Challenge class of the opening round of the Porsche Cup Endurance championship. In the qualifying this Saturday (11) in Portugal, the duo set the best average to guarantee the honor position on the grid.
In Algarve, racing in the Porsche #10, the teammates managed to set an average lap time of 1min48s5 to beat the rest of the field and start at the front for the 300km, or 2h30, race duration.
After the time trial, speaking with the Porsche Cup broadcast, the duo praised the excellent result at the start of the 2026 season. “Look, today was a very special day for me, everyone knows how hard this life as a driver is, especially for me since I am 17 years old. So, it’s a lot of work,” said Victor.

“Of course, there’s a whole race ahead, but I’m very proud of him, I just have to thank God for everything that has happened in my life. Wow, I have less than a year of car racing experience, so for me, being able to race alongside these guys is impressive. I just have to thank everyone, so that’s it. Let’s go to the race,” he continued.
Nicholas finished by saying, “I just have to thank him [Tieri], he helped me a lot this week, I improved a lot these days. I’m very happy with everything, I’m having an incredible amount of fun, I can’t even put into words how happy I am. Just a big thank you to Porsche Cup for providing such a great opportunity like this to so many people.”
