Brazilian making his first season in Formula 3, Pedro Clerot showed good speed in qualifying for the fifth round of the championship, held at the Silverstone circuit in England, but will have to make recovery races. The Rodin Motorsport team driver was among the top ten fastest, but an incident prevented him from completing the last lap in the session, dropping him to 21st place on the grid for both races.

After the first run on track in qualifying, Clerot placed himself in eighth position, which would put him in the grid inversion for the Sprint race. After putting on a set of new tires to improve his time in the final moments of qualifying, the Brazilian was disturbed by a competitor, going off track. Unable to improve his time, the owner of car number 17 will start from the 11th row of the grid.
“It’s a shame. I was in eighth position after the first run on track in qualifying when I was pushed off the track by another driver as I was starting the lap with a new set of tires. We did an incredible job, but today’s result doesn’t show that,” said Pedro Clerot, who is sponsored by Banco BRB.

Clerot is one of the highlights of the Formula 3 season. Owner of two podiums, the Brazilian also has three finishes in the top five and five top-10s in his debut year in the category. These results place the driver in seventh position in the championship, with 38 points.
After qualifying, Formula 3 continues the schedule at Silverstone with the races. The Sprint is scheduled for 5:35 AM this Saturday (4th), while the main race takes place on Sunday at 4:25 AM. F1TV broadcasts the races.
