Gabriel Bortoleto did not have a stroke of luck in the Monaco Formula 1 GP qualifying. In the most important session of the weekend, the driver made a small touch on the guard-rail, damaged the car, and will start only from 16th position.

For Saturday’s (6) qualifying session, the weather was slightly warmer than the third practice earlier. The thermometer indicated 24ºC and the asphalt reached 38ºC.
The start of the Monaco Formula 1 GP takes place this Sunday, 7, at 11 am Brasília time.

Once qualifying began in Monaco, Gabriel followed the other competitors and didn’t take long to leave the pits. Naturally, the first laps were for warm-up and reconnaissance. At this first moment, he was on soft tires.
When he opened his first fast lap, the competitor set the best first sector and with two other green sectors, he placed himself in fifth position ahead of Nico Hülkenberg and 0s5 behind Charles Leclerc, the fastest at the moment.
With four minutes still remaining until the checkered flag for the first phase, the Audi duo advanced to Q2 without major problems. Bortoleto was in tenth position on the leaderboard, while Nico held 12th place.
At this moment, the Brazilian went out onto the track once again, this time with a new set of tires. However, as he was completing his attempt, he went straight, hit the guard-rail at the end of the tunnel, and broke the front suspension, causing a red flag.
Unable to return, improve his time further, and unable to participate in Q2, the Brazilian will start from 16th position in the F1 Monaco GP.
