Theóphile Nael was the fastest driver in the sole free practice session for the second round of the 2026 Formula 3 season, held on Thursday morning (4) in Monaco. In the session held on the street circuit in Monte Carlo, the Campos Racing driver recorded 1min25s794 on his best lap of the session.

Second position went to Freddie Slater, a Trident driver who was ultimately beaten by Nael by 0s059. Ugo Ugochukwu, championship leader and Campos Racing driver, was third, followed by Bruno del Pino, fourth with Van Amersfoort. The top five also included Brazilian Pedro Clerot, a driver for Rodin Motorsport.
Louis Sharp, with a Prema car, finished the practice in sixth, followed by Ernesto Rivera, seventh with Campos Racing. Eighth position went to Taiyo Kato, a driver for ART Grand Prix. Noah Stromsted, from Trident, was ninth, while Enzo Deligny, from Van Amersfoort, closed out the top-10. Fernando Barrichello set the 29th fastest time with AIX Racing.

The session was interrupted. Ten minutes into practice, James Wharton hit the Prema car hard against the barrier, causing the first red flag of the weekend. The guard rail repair work took 22 minutes, which led race control to extend the session time by 15 minutes.
The Formula 3 schedule in Monaco will continue this Friday (5), with qualifying taking place from 6:05 AM. The Sprint is scheduled for Saturday, at 5:45 AM, while the main race starts on Sunday, with the start at 2:55 AM.
