Lewis Hamilton achieved his best result since joining Ferrari at the beginning of 2025 at the Canadian Formula 1 GP. The seven-time world champion finished in second place in Montreal and stated that he had to ‘move mountains’ behind the scenes to achieve the performance he had been seeking with the Italian team.

Besides the impressive result, the Briton highlighted that he experienced his most complete weekend with Ferrari so far. Hamilton also comfortably outperformed his teammate, Charles Leclerc, throughout the Canadian stage, at an important moment after months of difficulties adapting to the new team.
The problems faced by the British driver in 2025 had been widely discussed in the paddock. Ferrari even made internal changes, replacing Riccardo Adami with Carlo Santi, former race engineer of Kimi Raikkonen, to work with Hamilton.
After achieving the 204th podium of his career, and his first second place in Montreal, Hamilton spoke about the intensity of the work done to reach the result. The Briton emphasized that he had to find strength within himself to transform the situation experienced in the early stages of the season.
“I had a lot of fun throughout the weekend, in every lap. I felt we started the right way, came with the right attitude, and the car was really great overall,” Hamilton said after the race.

The seven-time F1 champion also highlighted the special connection with the Canadian circuit and praised the Sprint race experience in Montreal: “Coming to Montreal, a track I love, and being able to enjoy a weekend with the Sprint format here for the first time was amazing,” he said.
Hamilton admitted that the path to the first big result with Ferrari required enormous effort off the track: “This is my first second place with the team. I worked very hard for this. I can’t even explain how much I had to dig inside myself to get here, besides all the work and moving mountains behind the scenes to enable this performance,” he added.
Finally, the Briton made a point of thanking the support he received within Ferrari during difficult times: “I am very grateful to the team for continuing to support me every weekend. It’s a very good feeling to see them happy because they really deserve it for all the hard work they do,” he concluded.
