Aston Martin was fined by the FIA for a dangerous release in the pitlane during Q1 in the qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula 1, held this Saturday (23).

The Spaniard qualified his car in 19th place. When being released from the team’s garage, he ended up entering in front of Franco Colapinto, with the officials in Montreal evaluating the situation after the session ended.
Once everything was analyzed, the verdict was clear. Therefore, the English team was penalized with a fine of €5,000.

The official decision document confirmed that “the stewards heard the team representative and analyzed positioning images and onboard videos. It became evident that car 43 had to swerve and locked the front wheels to avoid a collision with car 14.”
“The stewards determined that this constituted an unsafe release,” it added.
