Ugo Ugochukwu was the fastest driver on the first day of the Formula 3 mid-season testing, held this Wednesday (20) at the Red Bull Ring. The American from the Campos Racing team recorded a time of 1min20s368 in the first of two sessions of the day at the circuit located in Austria, not being surpassed by rivals throughout the day.

The second position went to Tuukka Taponen, MP Motorsport driver who finished 0.073 seconds behind the time set by Ugochukwu. Noah Stromsted, driving a Trident car, took the third best time, followed by his teammate Freddie Slater. The top five group also included Brando Badoer, driving a Rodin car.
Brad Benavides completed the session with the sixth best time in an AIX Racing car, finishing just ahead of Louis Sharp, seventh with Prema. Hiyu Yamakoshi, from Van Amersfoort, was eighth, followed by Pedro Clerot, the Brazilian from Rodin who finished ninth. Nicola Lacorte, from DAMS, completed the top 10. Fernando Barrichello finished with the 28th time with AIX Racing.
The activity held this Wednesday was the first official session of the category since the Australian round at the beginning of March. F3 was scheduled to race in Bahrain, but the round was canceled due to the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

Testing continues this Thursday at the Red Bull Ring. The next round is scheduled for June 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Monaco
