The 2026 MotoGP season continues to be difficult for Marc Márquez. The current champion suffered another serious accident this Saturday, in a weekend that seemed to start with positive signs after qualifying.

The Ducati rider had to compete in Q1 but quickly responded by setting a new absolute track record and leading the session. Later, he secured a place on the front row of the grid by taking second position in the qualifying session, sharing the front line with his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia.
In the Sprint, however, problems reappeared. Márquez had a poor start and dropped to seventh position, falling behind Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha and Joan Mir of Honda. The situation worsened in the final laps when the Spaniard suffered a severe crash at turn 13, considered one of the most violent impacts of the season so far.

The images showed the rider clearly physically shaken after the fall. Márquez left the accident area limping and needed assistance to return to the Ducati motorhome, increasing concerns about his physical condition.
The accident adds to the difficult moment experienced by the 2026 MotoGP champion. Despite the speed shown in qualifying and the record set in Q1, the weekend ended again in a frustrating way for Márquez, who continues to face a challenging streak this season.
