The funeral of former Formula 1 and Indycar driver Alex Zanardi gathered more than two thousand people at the Basilica of Santa Giustina in Padua, Italy, according to motorsport.com, in a ceremony full of emotion.

Under a gray and silent sky, the ceremony celebrated not only the driver but the man behind the inspiring journey. Led by Don Marco Pozza, the farewell highlighted the charisma, optimism, and unique way Zanardi connected with people.
During the homily, Pozza recalled a remarkable meeting with the former driver and two inmates, highlighting Zanardi’s listening and empathy skills: “You made a beautiful mess… but I respect the way you are delving into yourselves,” he said on the occasion, before advising: “Sometimes just five more seconds are enough to make a difference.”
