Lewis Hamilton’s weekend at the Miami Grand Prix of Formula 1 ended with frustration and few points. An incident right on the first lap compromised the Ferrari driver’s race.

The result had a direct impact on the Briton’s performance, who spent the race practically managing damage to the car. The situation prevented any chance of fighting for higher positions, even after starting sixth.
Hamilton avoided a bigger problem by dodging a spin by Max Verstappen at turn 1, but ended up involved in a touch with Franco Colapinto, which sealed his fate in the race. The seven-time world champion highlighted that the weekend had already been complicated, including difficulties also in the Sprint.
“Obviously it was not a good weekend. Seventh and seventh, in the middle of nowhere in both races. Especially today, with the damage, there was nothing I could do. Really unlucky, because the team worked very hard, so to come away with so few points… we need to move on,” he said.

“It was just a touch. I was unlucky with Max spinning and I had to go to his right. I made a good turn 1 and was in a good position, and then the only place I could go was to the right. I lost positions there and then I think it was Franco who hit me and I lost a lot of performance from there,” he stated.
The scenario was even more negative for Ferrari at the GP, as Charles Leclerc, Hamilton’s teammate, also faced problems and spun on the final lap, falling out of the podium fight.
