The Ferrari driver highlighted that, despite some recent changes to improve safety on wet tracks, there are still important doubts. The lack of mileage with the current cars in these conditions increases uncertainty for Sunday, which is forecast to have storms.
“It’s good that we had these weeks to discuss changes, especially about racing in the rain, and there were some adjustments that help,” Leclerc said. Still, he made it clear that the scenario is far from ideal. “Are we completely satisfied? I don’t think so. The tires are still something we need to study, and we had very little time with these cars in the wet,” he said.

The recent history also weighs on the Monegasque’s assessment. In 2025, he suffered an accident still on the reconnaissance lap of the Sprint race in Miami, after losing control under heavy rain. The experience reinforces caution given the conditions forecast for this weekend.
Leclerc indicated that Ferrari has already taken preventive measures to reduce risks, but acknowledged that the real impact will only be known in practice: “We took some precautions to be on the safer side. Whether this is an exaggeration or not, only time will tell. We will know on Sunday,” he added.
