Formula 2 returns with a round this weekend after a hiatus of almost two months without races. The category, which opened the 2026 championship in Australia, found itself without rounds in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to conflicts involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Thus, the two rounds were replaced by Miami and Canada.

It will be the first time the current F2 visits the American continent. More than that, a feeder category to F1 has not raced in the Americas since 2002, when Formula 3000 raced at Interlagos. The championship is led by Nikola Tsolov, who has 25 points, ahead of Rafael Câmara and Laurens van Hoepen, the vice-leaders, with 18 points each. Emmo Fittipaldi has not scored yet.

The schedule will open this Friday, the day when free practice and qualifying take place. Saturday will feature the Sprint at 11 a.m., while the main race starts at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Sportv and F1TV broadcast all activities live.
