The chance of rain for this weekend’s Miami GP remains quite high. According to the weather forecast for the return of Formula 1 in 2026, a storm is expected for race Sunday.

Storms and precipitation could play a key role in the fourth round of the calendar. From May 1st to 3rd, the drivers return to the track after a month of April without races due to the cancellations of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
From a meteorological point of view, conditions should remain calm and trouble-free during the first two days of activities in Miami – single free practice, Sprint qualifying, Sprint race, and qualifying for Sunday’s GP.

In fact, Friday is forecasted to be dry and sunny all day, with a 0% chance of rain and temperatures reaching 30ºC. Meanwhile, on Saturday, conditions are quite similar with a dry track, 0% chance of rain, temperatures reaching around 32ºC, and asphalt at 50ºC.
However, on Sunday, things change drastically. Currently, the forecast indicates a 40% chance of rain, keeping drivers and teams on alert throughout the weekend. According to the regulations, the race director can declare a ‘risk of rain’ up to two hours before the start if the chance exceeds 40%.
