This statement drew attention because it involves precisely the four teams that have been leading the fight at the front of the grid in recent years. The Ferrari driver participated in the BSMT podcast, by Gianluca Gazzoli, where he was challenged to define each of them in a simple and direct way.
When talking about Ferrari, Leclerc did not hesitate and responded immediately: “That’s easy, passion.” The choice reflects the historical connection between the Italian team and its fans, in addition to the driver’s own emotional involvement with the Maranello team.
When the subject changed to McLaren, Leclerc opted for a different and equally direct word, and described the British team as ‘speed’, highlighting the competitive performance that the team has demonstrated recently.
For Mercedes, the Monegasque chose ‘precision’, a reference to the traditionally methodical way in which the German team built its successes. When talking about Red Bull, Leclerc used the term ‘ambition’, highlighting the team’s aggressive and winning profile.

These four teams have been the main protagonists of Formula 1 in recent years. Red Bull Racing and McLaren, in particular, have been accumulating achievements in both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, consolidating themselves as recent references in the category.
Mercedes, for its part, has not won a drivers’ title since 2020, while the last constructors’ championship came in 2021. Ferrari, meanwhile, continues its quest to end a long drought, as its last drivers’ title was with Kimi Raikkonen in 2007, while the constructors’ title came in 2008.
Even with this scenario, Leclerc remains focused on returning Ferrari to the top of Formula 1. The Monegasque driver has already made it clear on several occasions that winning a title with the Italian team remains his main objective in the category.
