MotoGP kicked off the 2026 season with the Thailand GP, held this Sunday (1) at the Buriram circuit, and saw Pedro Acosta finish the round leading the championship. The KTM rider, who won the Sprint and finished second in the main race, scored 32 points and starts the year in front.

Second place in the points table belongs to Marco Bezzecchi, winner this Sunday with an Aprilia, who has 25 points. The Italian crashed and scored zero in the Sprint. Raúl Fernández, a standout of the weekend, is third in the standings with 23 points, while Jorge Martín, with 18, and Ai Ogura, with 17, round out the top 5.
Brad Binder leaves Thailand in sixth position in the standings, with 13 points, one more than Fabio Di Giannantonio, seventh with 12 points. 2025 champion Marc Márquez appears in eighth position with 9 points after retiring this Sunday. Franco Morbidelli and Francesco Bagnaia, tied with 8 points, complete the top ten list.
The only Brazilian on the MotoGP grid this season, Diogo Moreira had a positive debut. 13th place in Thailand earned the LCR Honda rider his first three points in the championship. Thus, the owner of bike number 11 appears in 14th place in the standings, tied with Joan Mir, after one round.

MotoGP continues the 2026 season on March 20, 21, and 22, with the Brazilian GP, a race scheduled for the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, in Goiânia (GO).
