The driver from Blumenau took advantage of the two Friday sessions to drive on wet and dry tracks and felt a good setup of the equipment for any situation that arises in qualifying, which opens this Saturday’s schedule in the first stage of the calendar.
The 2026 season presents itself as the biggest challenge in the recent career of the #2 Porsche driver, who is in his second season in the class that competes with the most modern Porsche Cup cars, the 911 Cup generation 992.
Morestoni accelerates in the Sport division, credited by the Rookie class title in 2025. In 2024 he had his introductory season in racing cars and finished as runner-up in the Rookie class.

The first stage of the calendar has its first activity with qualifying on Saturday. Next comes race 1. Race 2 is scheduled to start at 13:10 on Sunday.

“Interlagos being Interlagos. Lots of rain and drizzle all day, so we did a lot of testing with rain tires, because it can fall even if it’s not in the forecast. Now we had the possibility of doing a dry practice. We first ran with the rain tire, then switched to slicks and the lap that fit a bit better gave us a momentary P3, until the steering box problem occurred.
But the car is well ‘in hand’, well set up and I have good expectations for tomorrow. It is obeying and well-tuned, so we will try for a P5 or higher in the category.”
