This Sunday Matheus Comparatto competed in the second race of the Velocitta round of the Porsche Carrera Cup, in Mogi Guaçu (SP). The driver finished ninth and after two rounds held he occupies fifth place in the competition.

Starting from eighth place on the grid, Comparatto maintained his position and escaped incidents on the first lap. Subsequently, the safety car was deployed to remove two cars from the back of the pack that had collided.
At the restart, the Shell driver remained in eighth place, but the intense heat of over 30ºC began to hinder the performance of car #118. The car’s alarms forced Matheus to slow down and on lap 11 he was in ninth place.

The driver took the car to the end seeking the best possible score and received the checkered flag in ninth position. Matheus Comparatto’s next commitment in the Porsche Cup takes place on June 12 and 13, at the Le Mans round.

“It was a difficult weekend, today we started from eighth place, but we didn’t have the pace to move forward. Unfortunately, the car started sounding alarms and I chose to have a pace that wouldn’t break the car to reach the end of the race and score points in the championship. The championship is long and when we don’t have the opportunity to fight for the victory it is important to score points. Now it’s about understanding what happened and improving to have good results in the European phase of the competition.”
