Erick Schotten started his journey in TCR Brasil scoring in both races of the opening round, held at Circuito dos Cristais, in Curvelo. Also valid for TCR South America, the round marked the debut of the 18-year-old with W2 Pro GP. With a P12 and a P10, Schotten scored 16 points and finished the first round in 13th place in the championship.

“It was a weekend of learning and evolution. The results don’t yet show our potential, but it was important to better understand the car and the category. I adapted quickly, after all I’m with the same team and we are well aligned, which facilitated the process. I also had a new experience with the dynamics of two qualifying sessions. I was happy to advance to Q2 right in my first participation. In the races, some setbacks didn’t allow us to climb further up the grid, but we are working on these details. I’m optimistic for the year in this new category”, he highlighted.

“With ten years of motorsport, I always chose to take on new challenges. It was like that since karting, going through a season in the United States, Formula Delta, and then with the transition to touring cars in Stock Light. TCR represents another step on this path. The main difference is that the cars here have front-wheel drive, while all the others I’ve driven in the last ten years had rear-wheel drive. It’s a big change, but I was able to adapt quickly. I’m happy and excited”, he said.
