The 2026 TCR South America season started in great style at Circuito dos Cristais, in Curvelo (MG). In the first race, Leonel Pernía shone and secured the victory, followed by Néstor Girolami and Juan Ángel Rosso, both Argentine. The second race brought a turnaround: Camilo Trappa, a Junior Cup debutant, triumphed, while Nelson Piquet Jr. and Rosso completed the podium.

After the Curvelo stage, Rosso took the lead of the overall championship with 58 points, closely followed by Néstor Girolami, with 55, and Camilo Trappa, with 53. Leonel Pernía, winner of the first race, appears in fourth place with 51 points, and Brazilian Raphael Reis completes the top-5 with 50 points, showing that the fight for the title will be intense throughout the season.

In the Junior Cup, Camilo Trappa already stands out as a major highlight, winning both races and accumulating 25 points, ahead of Gabriel Moura (15) and Nicolás Fuca (14). In the Trophy Cup, Adrián Chiriano maintains the advantage with 27 points, followed by Fernando Croce with 19. Among the teams, Honda Racing leads with 87 points, followed by Paladini Racing (73) and newcomer Hyundai MSA (68).
