Cadillac’s start in Formula has been discreet, but Sergio Pérez, the team’s driver, believes the team can evolve by the summer break and finally score its first points in the category. The team is still fighting for positions at the back of the grid, but the Mexican believes that improvements to the MAC-26 car can accelerate progress:

“I hope that by the summer break we will have already managed to score some points,” the Mexican told the press after the Chinese GP. “It is obviously a big task, with the gap we currently have. But, as I say, you know, this team is new, but it is very different from all the other new teams that have come into the sport.”
Among the initial problems, the team is working to prevent bodywork parts from coming loose during races — something seen in the Melbourne and Shanghai races.

Despite the initial difficulties, Cadillac is betting on the experience accumulated by its technical team and its drivers to build a solid foundation for development. The internal expectation is that the project will gradually gain momentum and be in a better position to compete more consistently by 2027.
