Lando Norris celebrated enthusiastically the pole position he secured for the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1, saying that everything came together in qualifying this Saturday (12).

The McLaren driver had been having a quiet weekend in Madring, a new circuit on the calendar. However, in the timed session, he beat championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 0.011 seconds to claim the 19th pole of his career.
Speaking after the session, he highlighted the great lap he had and also mentioned the special feeling of being the first F1 pole sitter at the Spanish circuit. “I’m incredibly proud of that lap. It was one of those moments where everything clicks and you manage to extract exactly what you planned to achieve,” he said.

“The car was performing solidly, I felt confident, and that final lap was the closest to perfection I’ve ever managed on this circuit. Securing pole position for the first Formula 1 race in Madring makes everything even more special. A big thank you to the team for all the hard work,” he continued.
“We have put ourselves in the best possible position for tomorrow and now the focus is on turning that into a good result on race day,” he concluded.
