Marc Márquez won the Sprint of the San Marino GP this Saturday (12), the 14th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. The Ducati rider started from second position at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Italy, but took the lead in the initial meters and maintained a safe distance from rivals to win the short race.

Second place went to Marco Bezzecchi, an Aprilia rider who could not attack Márquez after being attacked. Championship leader Jorge Martín was third with the other Aprilia on the grid, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, fourth with a VR46 Ducati. The top five group also included Álex Márquez, with a Gresini Ducati.
Pedro Acosta, from KTM, finished the race in sixth position, ahead of Raúl Fernández, seventh with the Trackhouse Aprilia. Fermín Aldeguer, Álex Márquez’s teammate, was eighth, with Luca Marini, from Honda, finishing ninth, closing the points zone. Johann Zarco, from LCR Honda, completed the top 10, followed by Diogo Moreira, his teammate and 11th placed.

The race started with Marc Márquez taking the lead at the first corner, leaving Marco Bezzecchi in second position, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Jorge Martín. Fermín Aldeguer dropped to fifth position. A little further back, Diogo Moreira advanced to tenth position still in the first corners of the race.
Still on the first lap, Pedro Acosta advanced to fifth position, surpassing Aldeguer, who began to be pressured by Álex Márquez, his Gresini teammate. In the back pack, Francesco Bagnaia passed Pol Espargaró, taking 14th place. Álex Márquez overtook Aldeguer and Acosta, entering the top 5 of the race on the third lap.

Aldeguer plummeted in the standings and fell to eighth position, while Fabio Quartararo crashed with the Yamaha after an incident with Moreira, who continued in the race. The Brazilian lost a position to Johann Zarco and dropped to 11th place. Up front, Di Giannantonio was warned for track limits, while Márquez opened a second lead over Bezzecchi.
On the seventh lap, Martín launched an attack on Di Giannantonio and managed to overtake, taking third place. In the fight for the race lead, Bezzecchi again cut the distance to seven tenths behind Márquez on the ninth lap of the race. Moreira, meanwhile, maintained 11th place in the race.
With four laps to go, Bezzecchi reduced the gap to Márquez to half a second, while Martín did not have the pace to get closer to the top two. Di Giannantonio, in turn, began to be pressured by Álex Márquez, in a battle for fourth place.
The race entered the final lap with Márquez 1.1 seconds ahead of Bezzecchi, heading for the victory. Bezzecchi and Martín completed the top 3, while Moreira finished 11th.
