Nikola Tsolov won this Saturday (7) the feature race of the opening round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne. The Campos Racing driver took the lead on the 26th of the 33 race laps in Australia, and opened up a significant gap to secure his first victory in the main feeder category to Formula 1.

Second place ended up in the hands of Rafael Câmara, the Invicta driver who showed combativeness throughout the race, finishing just over three seconds behind Tsolov. Laurens van Hoepen, in a Trident car, completed the podium in third position, followed by Oliver Goethe, fourth with MP Motorsport. Ritomo Miyata, from Hitech, was fifth.
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, with ART Grand Prix, finished the race in sixth place, ahead of Colton Herta, seventh with Hitech after taking advantage of a penalty against Sebastian Montoya. Gabriele Mini, from MP Motorsport, was eighth, while Montoya, from Prema, was still ninth. Joshua Durksen, winner of the Sprint with Invicta, was tenth. Emmo Fittipaldi finished 16th with AIX Racing.

The race had Safety Car interventions. On the third lap, Martinius Stenshorne and Alexander Dunne, teammates at Rodin, collided while dueling for the lead, and both retired. On the 17th lap, the car of Dino Beganovic, who was battling for the win, developed a problem, forcing the Swede from DAMS to leave the race, causing the deployment of the Virtual Safety Car, which gave way to the real Safety Car two laps later.
The next round of Formula 2 is scheduled for April 10, 11, and 12, at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain.
