Charles Leclerc is not interested in watching the path of rivals in Formula 1, saying it would be a mistake to try to recreate the steps that led Max Verstappen to the top at Red Bull.

After a very difficult 2025 season, Ferrari has managed to turn things around in 2026. In 12 rounds, it has already achieved wins with the Monegasque and Lewis Hamilton, and is currently second in the Constructors’ Championship.
Assessing the situation, Leclerc was asked what Maranello and he could do to emulate the success of Verstappen and Red Bull – who will stay together until 2030 with a new contract extension.

“Max, obviously, has had an incredible career so far and has won four world championships. I haven’t yet, but I think every situation is different. I believe it would be a mistake to try to follow the steps Max took,” he said.
“Besides, I have no idea what Max does inside the team to achieve that success. So, it would just be a matter of trying to imagine what is necessary. Instead, I prefer to focus on my own situation in the team and concentrate on the process,” he added.
