Lando Norris matched an important milestone in Formula 1 history by winning the Dutch GP, equaling David Coulthard’s thirteen wins in the category. The former British driver reacted with good humor and joked that he was ‘very annoyed’ by the achievement.

The victory in Zandvoort also reinforced Norris’s recovery in the 2026 season. After securing his first win of the year at the Hungarian GP and finishing second in the Sprint race at the Dutch circuit, the McLaren driver won again on Sunday and kept his title hopes alive.
Coulthard commented on the race in the Up to Speed podcast and highlighted his compatriot’s performance: “I think we saw exactly why I love Formula 1. We saw a driver in tune with his car, in tune with his team,” he said, before provocatively recalling that he had predicted Norris’s victory.

When informed that Norris had reached his thirteen GP wins, Coulthard joined in the joke: “Oh, God, I’m very annoyed! Very annoyed! He’s a world champion and has thirteen wins, haha! No, he was amazing. He deserves it,” he added laughing.
With these thirteen wins, Norris also matched the number achieved by the legendary Alberto Ascari. The next win will see the Briton reach Graham Hill, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Jack Brabham on the historical list.
