Max Verstappen has signed his contract renewal and extension with Red Bull until the 2030 Formula 1 season. Immediately, rumors about the potential salary of the four-time world champion began to circulate, indicating a substantial increase in the amount, likely making him the highest-paid driver on the grid.

Before last weekend’s Dutch GP, the rumors circulating were that the Dutchman would receive about 10 million euros more than he currently does. The estimated current salary is 60 million euros per year, which would increase to 70 million. Therefore, this would already put him ahead of what Lewis Hamilton earns at Ferrari – approximately 60 million annually.
Joe Saward, an F1 journalist, now indicates that the amount could be much higher. According to the British journalist, Verstappen receives about 75 million dollars per year, approximately 64 million euros. This was the agreement signed at the beginning of 2022 and was a five-year extension of the previous contract.

Now, the new agreement is based on a salary of about 100 million dollars, with potential bonuses that could bring the amount up to 120 million dollars. This would be approximately 102 million euros per year, making his earnings the highest in the Formula 1 field. After Hamilton, Charles Leclerc is the third highest-paid with 29 million euros.
