Young revelation of NASCAR Brazil, Tito Giaffone stood out this weekend by leading more than 50 laps of the NASCAR Pro Late Model in New Smyrna, Florida, United States. The Brazilian driver finished his first participation on an oval track in second place and approved the experience of driving car 96 from the NEXUS Racing team.

“I am very happy for this my first race on the oval and first race in the United States as well. I managed to lead most of the race, even opening a bit at the front competing with very experienced oval drivers. I ended up going to second place with three laps to go, but it was an incredible experience and I am very excited to maybe be able to come back one day,” says Tito, who is supported by PX and PPG.

Tito qualified in sixth place in the time trials and, after the grid inversion, started on pole position for the 60-lap race. This was the driver’s first international experience in the cars as part of NASCAR Brazil’s Driver Development.

“I would like to thank this exchange from NASCAR Brazil, Thiago (Marques) and my family who were with me helping a lot in this adaptation in the United States.” Tito now returns to the country to compete in the NASCAR Brazil stage in Londrina (PR) this weekend for Giaffone Mission Zero.

The activities will open this Friday (21) with the extra session and the first free practice. The schedule continues on Saturday with the second practice and the qualifying competition starting at 2:10 pm. The Sprint Race, with the six best qualifiers, is scheduled for 2:45 pm on the same day. The two races will be held on Sunday, the first at 9 am and the second at 2:05 pm.
