David Almansa wins thrilling Moto3 race at Silverstone

David Almansa won the England GP this Sunday (9), the 12th round of the 2026 Moto3 season. The Intact GP rider took the lead right at the start at the Silverstone circuit, and even in one of the most hectic races, he was in the lead for most of the 15 laps to win for the second time in this year’s championship.

Second place went to Álvaro Carpe, an Ajo rider who couldn’t challenge Almansa in the final laps but held off Adrián Fernández in the closing laps. Valentín Perrone, from Tech3, completed the podium in third place, overtaking Fernández on the final lap, relegating the Leopard Racing rider to fourth. Joel Esteban, from MTA, was fifth.

Joel Kelso, on a GRYD bike, finished sixth, ahead of Rico Salmela, seventh with Tech3. Eddie O’Shea crossed the finish line in eighth position with the second GRYD bike, while Veda Pratama, from Team Asia, was ninth. Matteo Bertelle, from MTA, closed the race in tenth place.

The race featured crashes. On the sixth lap, Adrián Cruces, touched by Casey O’Gorman, and Hakim Danish fell, in separate incidents, at turn 16 of the English circuit. O’Gorman was penalized with a long lap due to the incident. One lap later, Scott Ogden, who started from pole position, crashed, leaving the race.

With nine laps to go, it was Cormac Buchanan’s turn to leave the race after suffering a crash at turn 3. Nicola Carraro also fell on the penultimate lap at turn 12, leaving the race, while Brian Uriarte, who was fighting for the win, crashed on the final lap of the race. Besides all the crashes, Máximo Quiles did not race after fracturing his collarbone in a crash during qualifying.
