Sergio Pérez expects an improvement in Cadillac’s reliability after suffering a series of retirements in recent races of the Formula 1 season.

The rookie on the grid has experienced a challenging first year in the pack, naturally until finding the speed to be competitive. And although this first adaptation phase was expected, the North American team’s car has faced reliability issues – in the last seven GPs, both cars only finished one race.
In Hungary, the team suffered a double retirement, with Pérez suffering a suspension failure. “It’s something internal. I mean, we don’t know for sure, but it seems to be something internal,” the Mexican said when detailing the problem.

Now, with Formula 1 entering the summer break, Checo is optimistic that the team will use the time to find answers to the problems faced in 2026. “Obviously, being a new team, we kind of expect all these problems,” he said.
“It’s a bit frustrating that this has happened so often. I’m sure we will use this break to make sure we can adjust and improve all aspects in the different departments. It’s very important how we will evolve in the second half of the season,” he added.
