Driver who is part of the Porsche Talent Pool program and is in his second season in GT categories in Europe, Matheus Ferreira secured another podium in the 2026 Porsche Supercup season. The championship held its fifth round this Sunday (26) at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary, and the only Brazilian on the grid finished the race in third position among the Rookies, as well as sixth overall.

At the Hungarian round of the Supercup, Matheus started from tenth position, advancing five places right at the start. The driver showed good race pace and fought for a spot in the top 5 throughout the race, finishing sixth and ending as the third best Rookie. The result secured the Brazilian from the GP Elite team another podium in the championship, which holds its rounds within the Formula 1 GP schedule.
“We finished in sixth place overall after starting tenth. I had a very good start, passing five cars in one lap. There was a Safety Car period and I lost a position on the restart. From there, a pack formed and, with dirty air, it was difficult to overtake on a track that doesn’t offer many chances,” said Matheus Ferreira.

“I’m happy with the race, it was well contested, we will try to maintain this good form in the next rounds here and in the German Porsche Cup,” adds the driver, who has three podiums in six rounds and is fifth overall in the German championship, in addition to having, this season, a victory in the South European Porsche Sprint Challenge, achieved in Barcelona.
Matheus Ferreira’s next challenge is precisely the German Porsche Cup, which visits the Nurburgring circuit between August 14 and 16. One week later, between August 21 and 23, the Porsche Supercup holds its only double round of the year, scheduled for the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands, where the Brazilian achieved a fifth place this year in the German Championship.
