Lando Norris shared his verdict on McLaren’s updates after securing a dominant victory at the Formula 1 Hungarian GP last Sunday, the 26th.

The 2025 season champion returned to the top step of the podium after starting from pole position at Hungaroring. Also, in Budapest, he achieved his first win since last year’s São Paulo GP, and the victory comes precisely when the British team brought five updates to the MCL40.
Crossing the finish line with a 15-second lead over Max Verstappen, who finished second, Norris was encouraged by McLaren’s updates – four of the updates were related to the car’s performance.
“I mean, I’m just happy with today. The fact that we’re quick here doesn’t mean we’ll be quick everywhere. One thing I’ve definitely learned is not to set expectations for the future and just work in the present. I think that’s how we’ve done everything as a team,” he explained.

“That’s why we’re on top today: simply working hard, both individually and as a team. I just want to enjoy the break. Of course, I’m optimistic about the future and I think we can win more races, but we have good competition and there are still many races where I don’t feel confident because the car isn’t at the necessary level in certain aspects,” he continued.
“But I trust the team. I believed we could win a race, and it happened a bit earlier than I expected. I’m confident we can improve in areas that are still not good enough,” he concluded.
