The justification used by Carlos Sainz for the collision with Oscar Piastri during the Hungarian Grand Prix of Formula 1 took a hit after the release of the Spanish driver’s onboard footage and radio transmissions.

Before the Australian retired with gearbox problems, the McLaren driver was leading the race. After stopping, he came back to regain first place when he encountered the opponent’s Williams.
