Brazilian Rafael Câmara achieved another podium in the 2026 Formula 2 season, contested this Sunday (26) at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary. The Invicta Racing driver crossed the finish line in third position, securing his fifth podium of the year and reducing the gap to his rivals in the title fight.

Câmara was in the top-3 throughout the 37 laps of the race at the circuit located near Budapest, after starting from second position. The Brazilian extended his stint on soft tires and only changed tires on the 20th lap, putting on medium compounds. In the end, the Ferrari Driver Academy member crossed the finish line in third, close to the first two finishers.
“My race was a bit boring, I was stuck behind someone the whole race. I enjoyed the laps where I had clear track, I tried to make the most of it when I could. I think the out-lap from the pits was very good. And, of course, I think if it weren’t for the Virtual Safety Car, maybe we could have overtaken Noel. But that’s how it is. It happens sometimes. But the good thing is that we had good pace and a good car. Overall, it was a positive weekend,” said Rafael Câmara.

With this weekend’s results, Câmara has now reached 145 points, and remains in third position in the championship, just two points behind the vice-leader, and 22 behind the championship leader, with five rounds remaining until the end of the championship.
Formula 2 takes its summer break and returns on September 4, 5, and 6, with the Italian round, scheduled for the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
