TCR South America moves the venue of the sixth stage of 2026 and confirms race in Córdoba

TCR South America announced a change in the 2026 season calendar. The sixth round of the championship, which was scheduled to take place at the Autódromo Internacional de Termas de Río Hondo, in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, will be held at the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén, in Córdoba. The race keeps the originally planned dates: August 22 and 23.

According to the organization, the change was made due to organizational and logistical issues that made it necessary to change the event location. Located in Villa Parque Santa Ana, near Alta Gracia and approximately 35 kilometers from the city of Córdoba, the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén is considered one of the most traditional circuits in Argentina.

The track is known for its challenging layout, which combines high-speed sectors, elevation changes, heavy braking points, and technical corners that require precision from drivers and engineering teams. The configuration chosen for the TCR South America round is about 4 kilometers long and offers different overtaking opportunities, a feature that usually provides intense battles.

The round in Córdoba will have a special schedule by sharing the weekend with other important regional motorsport categories, such as Córdoba Pista and Fórmula Renault Plus CBA. This will be the third time that TCR South America competes at the Córdoba circuit. The first visit was in 2021, when the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén hosted the penultimate round of the season. On that occasion, Uruguayan Santiago Urrutia and Argentine Fabricio Pezzini won the weekend races.

In 2023, the circuit returned to the category’s calendar to host the season opener. That year, local drivers Ignacio Montenegro and Walter Hernández claimed the victories.

Before returning to Argentina, TCR South America will hold the fifth round of the 2026 season on July 25 and 26 at the Autódromo Velocittà in Brazil. The race will be the last championship contest on Brazilian soil before the start of the decisive phase of the calendar.
