The city had been hosting the fastest race since Formula 1 introduced the novelty in 2021. There were five consecutive Sprints, until 2025. This year, the São Paulo GP will not host the shorter race. But Brazilian fans can already celebrate its return next season, along with nine other events.

The number of Sprints on the calendar will also be a record for Formula 1. In recent years, only six GPs hosted the race, which is considered an absolute success among fans. According to F1 data, the audience for a weekend with a Sprint race is 12% higher than that of a traditional weekend. About 82% of the audience says the Sprint adds value to their tickets.

Canada, England, Italy, and Qatar will also return to host the fastest race. Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, and Abu Dhabi will host the Sprint for the first time in 2027.
